What is Domestic Abuse? Domestic abuse, sometimes called battering, relationship abuse, or intimate partner violence, is a pattern of behavior used to establish power and control over another person through fear and intimidation, often including the threat or use of violence. Domestic violence can include physical abuse, emotional abuse, economic abuse, and sexual abuse. Batterers use threats, intimidation, isolation, and other behaviors to maintain power over their victims. Domestic violence impacts everyone, regardless of income, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or religion. Thirty percent of Americans say they know a woman who has been physically abused by her husband or boyfriend in the past year.

QUILT RAFFLE BENEFITS MARGIE'S HAVEN HOUSE

A quilt created by the Daisy Patch Quilters Club of Heber Springs and Nancy McCord has been generously donated to Margie's Haven House. The quilt is a brightly colored, star themed crayon quilt. Members of the club colored squares with crayons which were then transferred to blocks of fabric. Nancy McCord from Batesville, Ar., pieced and quilted the blocks. Upon completion. Mrs. McCord returned the quilt to Daisy Patch Quilters with the understanding the club would use the quilt to benefit an organization needing financial assistance.

Margie's Haven House is the fortunate benefactor of the quilt. The quilt is on display for raffling at Heber Sew N' Vac & Quilter's Corner Fabric  in downtown Heber Springs. Tickets are $1.00 each or $5.00 for 6 tickets. Tickets may be purchased Tuesday through Saturday at Quilter’s Corner.

Don't miss the chance to win a “one-of-a-kind” quilt and help
